Nutella-Peanut butter squares

When you don’t have an oven and long for some chocolate goodness, this recipe will work like a charm. What’s more, you get to combine peanut butter with chocolate. To be succinct, peanut butter + chocolate = heaven.

When we had guests over for the weekend, I searched the net for easy desserts that combined PB and Nutella, and found this and this. Its rare to come across desserts that are so easy to make, and believe me this one was a breeze.

Nutella-Peanut-Butter squares (makes around 20 1.5″x1.5″squares)
For the base:
200 gms Peanut butter
9-10 Graham Crackers (cab substitute with digestive biscuits)
1 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence

Frosting:
220 gms Nutella

Grind the graham crackers/digestive biscuits to a fine powder in a grinder. Add this to a mixing bowl. Nuke the butter (20 secs on low power) till melted. Add to the bowl. Add granulated sugar and vanilla essence. Combine all this and mix well to achieve a thick paste-like consistency. Turn out this mixture into a baking tray and shape to form a rectangular slab.

Refrigerate the slab for and hour till firm.

Nuke the Nutella for 30 seconds on low power till it achieves a spreadable consistency. Spread this on the peanut butter base and return to the fridge for around 1 hour, till it sets.

Cut into squares and plate up.

And that’s it! Cooking never got simpler.
